The Phoodle family

It started with family.

Cooked the way our family cooks it

Phoodle started in 2013 with a family, a love of Vietnamese food and recipes that have been passed down from one generation to the next. We haven’t changed the way we cook just because we opened a restaurant.

If you ever tell anyone my secret recipes, I will kill you! — Grandma, on handing over the family cookbook

These are the flavours we grew up with — and the ones we still love sharing with our family and friends today. Thirteen years on, we are still a family business in the same food court, feeding the same regulars.

The food

Some things are worth waiting for.

Good food takes time.

Our beef broth doesn’t come from a packet. We let it simmer for 12 hours, building the deep flavour that makes a proper bowl of phở worth waiting for.

Charred ginger, onion and whole spices go in every single morning. The banh xeo is only cooked when you order it, and the pork belly is scored by hand.

The secret

Grandma won’t tell us the recipe.

Grandma’s not giving away her secrets. She’s been making these recipes for years — we’ve managed to convince her to let us share the food. Just don’t ask us what’s in the secret sauce.

shh… it’s a family thing
